SonicVision Privacy Policy
Last updated: 15 August 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how SonicVision ("SonicVision", "we", "us" or "our") collects, uses, stores and protects personal data when you use our website and services.
SonicVision is operated from Ireland and we seek to comply with applicable data protection legislation, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Irish Data Protection Act 2018.
1. Who We Are
SonicVision provides a service that enables users to upload audio and generate music videos and other audiovisual content. For data protection purposes, SonicVision is the controller of personal data processed for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.
For privacy enquiries, contact [email protected].
2. Information We Collect
Depending on how you use SonicVision, we may collect account information such as name, email address, account credentials or authentication information, and account or subscription information.
We may collect uploaded audio and other content, including recordings, filenames, embedded metadata, lyrics or spoken words, and information identifying artists or recordings.
We may store generated videos, images, project information and other outputs. We may also collect usage information such as pages visited, features used, projects created, processing activity, errors, diagnostics and approximate usage volumes, together with technical information such as IP address, browser and device type, operating system, timestamps, and security and access logs.
3. How We Use Your Information
We process information to create and manage accounts; provide the Service; process uploaded audio; analyse audio and associated information; generate videos and outputs; store and deliver projects; process payments; provide support; maintain and secure systems; detect fraud and abuse; troubleshoot problems; and comply with legal obligations.
We will not use uploaded music to train general-purpose AI models unless we clearly tell you about that use and obtain any consent or other legal basis required.
4. Uploaded Audio
SonicVision is designed to minimise retention of original uploaded audio. Original audio may be temporarily stored while processed. We intend to automatically delete original audio after processing has completed, normally within 24 hours.
This does not necessarily delete derived information at the same time. A project may contain duration, BPM, beat information, transcription or lyrics, audio analysis and project metadata. Temporary copies may remain in backups, caches or technical systems for a limited period before being overwritten or deleted.
5. Generated Videos and Projects
Generated videos and project information may be retained while your account is active or for the period necessary to provide the Service. You may delete projects through the Service where that functionality is available. Technical backups may retain information for a limited period for security, disaster recovery and legal purposes.
6. Legal Bases for Processing
Depending on the circumstances, we may process personal data on the basis of contract, legitimate interests in maintaining security and reliability and preventing abuse, legal obligation, or consent where applicable, including for certain marketing or optional cookies. Where we rely on legitimate interests, we balance those interests against your rights and freedoms.
7. Third-Party Service Providers
We may use providers of cloud hosting, storage, authentication, payment processing, email, audio analysis, transcription, image generation, video generation, analytics and security services. Where a provider processes personal data on our behalf, we seek appropriate contractual and technical protections. Some providers may process information outside the EEA; where required, we use an appropriate lawful transfer mechanism.
8. Payments
If you purchase credits or other paid services, payment information may be processed by our payment provider. SonicVision does not generally need to store your complete payment card number. Payment providers process information in accordance with their own privacy policies.
9. Email
If you provide an email address, we may use it to authenticate your account, send service-related messages, respond to support requests and provide important account or Service information. We only send marketing communications where permitted by law. You can unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time.
10. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We may use cookies and similar technologies necessary to operate the website, maintain sessions, protect accounts and understand usage. Where required by law, we request consent before placing non-essential cookies. You can control cookies through your browser and any provided preferences interface.
11. Data Retention
We seek to retain personal data only as long as reasonably necessary. Our general approach is: original uploaded audio is normally deleted within 24 hours after processing; generated videos remain until deleted or no longer required; project metadata remains while required to provide the Service; account information remains while the account is active and for a reasonable period thereafter; payment records are retained as required by tax and accounting law; and security logs are retained as reasonably necessary for security and abuse prevention.
Actual retention periods may vary where required for legal, security or technical reasons.
12. Your Rights
Subject to applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict processing, object to certain processing, obtain data portability, and withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
To exercise your rights, contact [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity before responding.
13. Complaints
Please contact us first at [email protected]. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Irish Data Protection Commission or another competent supervisory authority.
14. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, misuse or alteration, including access controls, encryption, secure authentication and restricted production access. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
15. Children's Privacy
SonicVision is not intended for children without appropriate parental or guardian involvement. We do not knowingly collect children's personal data where doing so would be unlawful.
16. International Transfers
Some service providers may operate outside Ireland or the EEA. Where personal data is transferred internationally, we use appropriate safeguards required by applicable data protection law.
17. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify users where appropriate. The updated version will be published on this page.
